About Ernest Henry Gubler
Obituary from the Nevada State Journal, July 13, 1972: Noted White Pine Rancher Ernest Gubler Dies at 71 -- Lund - Ernest H. Gubler, prominent White Pine County rancher, died Monday in an Ely hospital after a brief illness. He was 71. Mr. Gubler was born November 3, 1900, in Lund. He attended grade school in Lund and continued his education in Utah at Weber Academy in Ogden, Brigham Young in Provo and Salt Lake Business College.
After completing his education, he returned to Lund and began farming and raising cattle. On September 15, 1934, he married Kathyrn Harrison of Lund. Mr. Gubler was appointed to the Ely District advisory board for the Bureau of Land Management in 1941. He later served as chairman of the board for several years until the fall of 1970.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Janice) Willfong of Lund and Mrs. David (Pamela) Smart of Provo; six sisters, Mrs. Ina Gilfillan of Los Angeles, Mrs. Laira Hendrix of Orem Utah, Mrs. Mabel Oxborrow of McGill, Nevada, Mrs. Olive Hart of Reedsport, Oregon, Mrs. Ruby Wakeling of Reno, and Mrs. Ivy Anderson of Fallon; three brothers, Albert of Lund and Charlie and Ralph of Ely. An infant daughter, Marsha, preceded him in death. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday in the Lund Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Burial will be in the Lund Cemetery.
