Ethel Leora Spurlock was born to John William and Eliza Jane (Johnson) Spurlock on March 18 1896 in Jefferson County, Iowa. She was seventh of eight children. Her family moved to Colorado and lived in Larimer County. Ethel married Henry Kennedy and had 3 children before Henry died in the flu epidemic of 1918.
Ethel placed her little girls with her sister, Nellie, and took her son, Henry Jr. to work in the Sugar Bowl Cafe.
Shortly after, she met and married Nelson Schofield with whom she had five more children. They raised their family in the country north of Denver, now Westminster CO. Nelson was a pipefitter as were several of their sons.
Ethel died Oct 12 1976 and Nelson in 1979. They left behind many beloved children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
