Eufamie Hepburn, here treated, married Andrew Makdowell, son and heir of Dungall Makdowell of Makerstoun. They were probably married before 4 October 1477. RMS 1424-1513: charter number 1360

Evidence from the National Records of Scotland

4 October 1477: Charter by which Dungalli Makdowell of Mackerstoun confirms that he has given one half of the land and barony of Yestir, together with the lands of Duncanlaw and Morehame, all in the Constabulary of Haddington and Sheriffdom of Edinburgh, to his son Andrew, and EUFAMIE HEPBURNE, daughter of Patrick, Lord Hailes. These lands were to be held by Eufamie Hepburne for her lifetime, and thereafter by the lawful heirs of Eufamie and Andrew, whom failing by the nearest heirs of Dungalii Makdowell of Mackerstoun. RMS 1424-1513: charter number 1360

This marriage with Andrew Macdougal (also known as MacDowall) is mentioned in the book entitled ‘A Genealogical and Heraldic History of the Commoners of Great Britain and Ireland Volume 3., which is easily read online.

Andrew outlived Euphemia. I am not sure yet, if she is the mother of Thomas. I will edit if necessary.

14 October 1477: Charter by which Dungalli Makdowall of Makerstoun confirms that he has given a liferent of one half of the baronies of Yester, Duncanlaw, and Moreham, to Eufamie Hepburn and her lawful heirs by Andrew Makdowall, his son and heir. Eufamie is identified as the daughter of Sir Patrick Hepburn of Halis. RMS 1425-1525: charter number 1360
