About Ezekial Self
Ezekial first went to Anson County, North Carolina about 1758. He shows owning land in Effingham County, Georgia in 1788 and then appears in Bulloch County, Georgia in 1810. He adopted the "Selph" spelling of his name later in his life.
January 11, 1778, Deed Book W-4, Page 386, Charleston South Carolina, Joshua and Sarah Curtis selling to Ezekial Self, planter, 250 acres in Craven County, Parish of St. Mark on the SouthWest side of Pee Dee River in the independent State of South Carolina, for two hundred pounds lawful money. Recorded April 9, 1778.
April 3, 1786, Bullock County, Georgia. Esekial Self was granted 100 acres of a tract of land bought by Josiah Jones from Elizabeth Mikell on Lott's Creek.
He is shown as owning land in Effingham County, Georgia in 1788.
November 7, 1796, Bullock County, Georgia, Stock Mark Records, 1796-1961, page 3. The mark of Ezekiel Self, popular leaf and split in the right ear, swallow fork and upper bit in the left. Brand thus ES. Recorded at his request the 7th day of November 1796. A.E. Wells, C.S.C.B.C.
