Ezekiel Worthen (Wathen)

History: Ezekiel Worthen was only 8 1/2 years old when he was left an orphan. The Salem Court apprenticed him to Thomas Abre (Avery) to serve until he should be 20."

"Estate of Margery Wathen, widow of Salem. Will brought into Court Oct. 5, 1644 by John Thurston. Inventory #37 - 13 s. 5d." (From Salem Court)

"Ezekiell Waten, a boy of about 8 1/2 yrs. committed to Thomas Abre June 27, 1644, as an apprentice until he is 20 yrs. old should his master live so long."

"Court ordered Oct. 30, 1647 that Thomas Abre of Salem have 1/4 of that house sometime of the Widow Wathen, dec'd and 1/2 of 1 yrs. rent of the same for the use of Ezekiell Wathen who is committed to him."
