Era Levina New, 82, of Ozark, Missouri, died Monday, July 5, 2004 in Ozark Riverview Manor. She was born October 12, 1921 in Moro, Arkansas, the daughter of Judge D. and Laura (Oxner) Hires. On April 3, 1943 she married Leo New. Era was a member of the Moro Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband Leo of Ozark, her son Lane New and wife Alma of Orlando, Florida, her daughter Dolores Lamb and husband Johnny of Ozark, as well as five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother Earl Hires of West Memphis, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robert Hires.

Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery at Moro.
