Frances Amelia Shearer met Chester Paul Lutman while working at the Firestone plant in Akron, Ohio. Sometime before 1930, Paul Lutman moved his family to the Lutman family farm in Sleepy Creek, West Virginia (near Berkeley Springs). Frances was a homemaker while Paul worked for the "road crew" and ran the family farm. After the death of Paul Lutman, Frances married a widower, Tack Ditto a retired railway employee who enjoyed wood carving.
