Notes: Francis "Frank" Combs, son of Henry & Rachel CLEMENTS Combs, Sr. According to Dickey Diary Interview of William M. Combs, "... Frank married Bettie OLIVER first, second Polly COUCH, lived and died in Perry … " Note also, however, the 05 Mar 1855 Perry Co., KY record of a Francis & Polly HOLLIDAY Combs. Was Polly neè COUCH or might she have been HOLLIDAY? Not found on the 1860 or 1870 Perry census. Also see mysterious Franklin with mother, Elizabeth, on the 1880 Breathitt Co., KY Census. According to The Combes Genealogy, Chapter XXII, p. 145, Frank married (2) a Polly CROUCH [sic]. On p. 149 are listed only the above children, excepting Shadrach. Corrected: Earlier transcription listed no birth state for Francis; Mathew as "Matthew;" Shadrach instead of Shadrick, and no birth states for four youngest children.
