Frank William Bridges Skinner

Birth registered in Q3 1882 in Cheltenham. Baptised on 30th July 1882 in St Peter, Cheltenham. The third forename "Bridges" is dropped on later records.

Frank's father was Walter Henry Skinner, a decorator. His address at time of marriage is twenty-three Childers Street, Deptford. He is twenty and a smith. Rose Annie Skinner and Lizzie Lillie Skinner are his witnesses. They were married in St. Paul's Church, Cheltenham, in 1902.

He emigrated ahead of his family to Montreal probably on SS Dominion from Liverpool on 23rd November 1905. The birth of Nellie his daughter was registered in Islington in Q4 1905. He crossed the boarder at Niagara falls in April 1906 arriving in New York where he became an iron worker in an iron shop. Settled he brought the family over via Canada in 1907.

1910 he and the family are recorded in the US Federal census in Queens Ward 4, New York. He is 27.

1918 Draft Registration Card gave date and place of birth. Living in Blanche Avenue, Harrington Park, Bergen.

1920 is age 37, naturalised in 1919, working in own iron working shop, Adam Street, Norwood, Bergen, New Jersey with wife (entered as Dolly), and son and daughter.

1930 is age 46, same place and occupation, with wife, Frank junior, his widowed brother (also an ironworker) and two children.

1940 is age 57, a stoker engineer in a stoking company with wife only in Ridge Pilse Collegeville Road, Lower Providence, Montgomery Pennsylvania.

1942 WW2 Registration Card gives address as 1903S Front Street, Allentown, PA.

Death in 1964 is taken from PA Death Certificate. Place of death was Cedarbrook Hospital, Allentown. His son was the informant. Year of birth given is 1880 rather than 1882 . US Social Security has 1882.
