Immigration: 1859 (25 Aug) Franz, Anna, Michael & Susan Weiher arrived in New York on the ship "Donau".
Frank Weir (Wejer) Family
Frank (b. 1818 in Kalisz) and Anna (Krefft) Weir (b. 1831 in Kalisz) came to this country in 1859.
According to the ships records Frank was age 28 which would make his birth date 1831 and Anna 1834. Polish Records can be found in Lipusz Parish.
They settled south of Pine Creek, by the Trempealeau River, on government land. Initially they lived in a tent, while constructing a log house and barns. They sold hay and lumber in Winona. They then aided the John Kulas family (Anna's sister Josephine married John Kulas), to come to this country and settle in the area. They also aided two of Frank's relatives, Mike and Martin to come to this country. They had nine surviving children Mike (b. 1856, Kate Brezinski), Susan (b. 1859 on boat, Mrs. Joseph Brezinski), John (b. 1863, Mary Szlagowski), August (b. 1865), Pauline (b. 1867-78), Julia (b. 1869, Mrs. Paul Brezinski), Stanley (b. 1871), Jacob (b. 1873-88), Mary (b. 1876, Mrs. Stanley Losinski). Frank and Anna passed away in 1892 and 1924.
