About Frederick Thomas Burnett, Sr.
Frederick Thomas Burnett was born May 11, 1770 in Meherrin Parish, Brunswick Co., Virginia, the son of Jesse Burnett (born 1730, died after October 7, 1820) and Judith Prince. He eloped with and married on April 14, 1795 to Margaret "Peggy" Null, who was born April 22, 1780 and died September 28, 1875 at North Fork, Buncombe Co., North Carolina. She is buried at the Old Ingram Cemetery. Margaret's father, Phillip Null, was a Captain in the Revolutionary War and participated in most of the battles of that war. He is buried at Swon Cemetery in Point Pleasant, West Virginia.
Frederick Burnett was one of the first settlers of the North Fork section of Black Mountain, North Carolina. He died June 9, 1854 while visiting his daughter, Margaret Shope, and is buried in the Old Lakey Cemetery in Macon Co., North Carolina.
The children of Frederick and Margaret Null Burnett are as follows: Eldridge, Margaret, Fredrick Jr., Isabell, Judith Ann, Marcus Lafayette, John, Phillip, and Clarissa Burnett.
