The 1881 census has Frederick Larard living in 10 Brunswick Terrace in Hull with his wife, Mary, and children. His occupation is watchmaker. However, the census also note that he was a councillor at the time of the census:

When he died, the Hull Daily Mail wrote "Alderman Frederick Larard. of 256, Anlabvroad. Hull, and Father" of the Hull City Council aged 71 years, whose death occurred on the lst, September last [i.e. Sept 1918], left estate valued at £8,119, with net personalty £4,536"
