About Frederick Thomas Saunders
GEDCOM Note
<tpphoto><id>2149534</id><id>2102564</id></tpphoto>Worked his way up in BritishOil and Cake Mills (BOCM) in Silvertown, London. Eventually made it to Chief Accountant and travelled in Europe (e.g. Germany) quite a bit with his job which was very unusual in those days. His granddaughter says he had a bit of a short temper although she remebered him taking her to buy sweets (pops as they called them). There were great parties in the house and his daughter Winnie would play thepiano but at 10 oclock he would stand in front of the fireplace and wind up the clock- a cue for everyone to leave. He may have had a nervous breakdown which caused him to retire early. They alsways holidayed in Margate. Lived at Norfolk Road, East Ham and later a large house at 172, Burgess Rd., East Ham in quite a big house. After his wife Jane died he lived with his daughter Winnie in Meadway, Ilford. In 1901 he and the family were living at 69, Credon Road.
