About Francis Pilsudski
Podczaszy (Polish: deputy cup-bearer) was, since the 13th century, a court office in Poland and later in Lithuania.
Since the 14th–16th century the title was an honorable district office in the Crown of Poland and of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and later, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
Franciszek was a member of parliament in 1758.
He received the Order of Saint Stanislaus ( 1779 ) and the Grand Cross of the Divine.
The Order of St. Stanislaus: First instituted in 1765 by Stanislas Augustus Poniatowski, last king of Poland prior to the partition. The order ranked second only to the White Eagle.
Franciszek Piłsudski bought Šilalė Estate from his brother, Ludwik Piłsudski, who had inherited it from their father, Ferdinand Ignatius Piłsudski. Franciszek also bought Gelgaudiškiai Manor, Putvinskiai Manor and several other estates, thus greatly expanding the family's holdings.
