Her names are given as "Geertrúÿ Susanna Petronella" only. (No Johanna). According to GISA's SAF CD Vol 17 (Jordaan), the spelling of her first name was "Geertruyda". According to her baptism record, it was written, "Geertrúÿ".

Some sources refer to her with 4 names "Gertruida Susanna Petronella Johanna" (SAF CD Vol 17, SAF CD Vol 2); others have 3 names "Gertruida Susanna Petronella" (her Baptism Record and when she signed her husbands Death Notice); or "Gertruida Susanna Johanna" (her Marriage Record) and others have 2 only "Gertruida Susanna" (her son Barend Francois' Death Notice, as well as at baptism of Barend Francois.)

The reference in GISA's SAF 17 to her Date of Death as 8.7.1860 is erroneous. This is the Date of Death of her spouse. The same source is also erroneous with respect to her being the "Widow Vermaak".
