George married twice, first to Mary Malin, later to Margaret (Jones), widow of Thomas Paschal, on 1mo/Jan 6, 1730 at Goshen Mtg.

Margaret was the daughter of Rees ap John ap William (Rees Jones, also called Rees John William) of Llangelynin, Dolgellau, a community in Gwynedd, historically the County of Merionethshire, Wales and Hannah ap Rhys (Hannah Price). Margaret was born 6 mo/Aug 20, 1697 in Merion Twp. Her father Rees Jones was one of the 17 original purchasers of land in Merion in the Welsh Tract from John ap Thomas & Dr. Edward Jones or "Company No 1". The Certificate of Removal for Rees Jones, wife Hannah and 3 children was dated 2mo/Apr 4, 1684 from the Quarterly Meeting near Dolgelly and recorded at Haverford/Radnor/Merion Meeting in the Welsh Tract. Rees John William/Rees Jones was buried at Goshen 11mo/Jan 26, 1698. Will #106 of Rees John William is extant, dated 11mo/Jan 24, 1697 (1698), Inventory taken 6mo/Aug 9, 1698. [Philad'a Will Book, B, page 282]

Of the original 50,000 acres of Penn's land - the Welsh Tract or Welsh Barony - much of it was on the west side of the Schuylkill river, and were the 3 townships of Merion, Haverford and Radnor. A few years later, it grew to settle 3 other townships, Newtown, Goshen and Uwchlan.
