George BANNISTER was born c1768 England
George was convicted of theft (with John NURSE and George ROBINSON) and sentenced to 7 years transportation. He arrived in Sydney Cove on 26/1/1788 on "Alexander"
George married/had a relationship with Ann FORBES and they had the following children
George was sent to Norfolk Island on 17/3/1790 on "Sirius" and returned to NSW on 5/3/1793
There are multiple dates for George's death - 1854 and 1864 - although some sites state that he disappears from the records after 1793

He was tried at Old Bailey, London on 21 April 1784 for burglary with a value of 13 shillings. He was sentenced to transportation for 7 years and left England on the Alexander aged about 19 at that time (May 1787). He had no occupation recorded. Notes: Arrested at 16 years of age.On 15 March 1789 received 50 lashes for theft of flour.
