George Bruce of Kineswood, here treated is the son, probably the third son of Robert Bruce, of Blairhall & Easter Kennet [NRS: CC6/5/4] He is noticed on 21 October 1664 as the deceased brother of Robert Bruce of Blairhall NRS: GD29/1361

His Father's Last Will and Testament

Robert Bruce of Blairhall made his last will and testament on 12 September 1617. He nominated and appointed four of his children to be his executors testamentar, that is James Bruce, George Bruce, Margrat Bruce and Issobell Bruce. He left a cash legacy to his eldest son Robert Bruce. No financial provision was made for a widow and it is supposed that his wife must have predeceased him. Confirmation was granted to his executors testamentar on 28 September 1617.
