George married Antje Van Horn, daughter of Matthias Van Horn and Neeltje Crum, circa 1767 at Readington, Hunterdon County, New Jersey; 16 Children. George Jury Gearhart died on Apr 4, 1828 at Lebanon Twp., Hunterdon County, New Jersey. George was buried at Dutch Reformed Church, Lebanon, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.

He immigrated on Sep 17, 1753 to Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania; aboard the ship Patience.

George Jury's left a will on May 25, 1826 at Lebanon Twp., Hunterdon County, New Jersey.

In the Name of God Amen: I, George Gearhart of the township of Lebanon in the County of Hunterdon and State of New Jersey being weak in body but of sound mind and memory, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say, in the first place it is my will, that my daughter Anne shall first and foremost have out of my personal estate the sum of fifty dollars;

and I the next place, I give unto my eldest son Jacob the sum of one dollar and do hereby discharge him of the obligations I hold against him in case he brings no accompts against my estate-

thirdly it is my will that my three grandchildren, that is the children of my Daughter Elizabeth, shall receive out of my estate the sum of eighteen dollars to be divided equally between them and as touching the residue of my personal estate if any there be;

and the whole of my real estate that it be divided among my six sons named hereafter to wit-Matthias, George, Godfrey, Abraham, Isaac and David, and my three daughters to wit Eleanor, Mary and Anne in the following manner;

that is the sons to have two shares each and the daughters to have one share each and if any of my heirs or legalies should render or bring in accompts against my estate for work done for me after they were of age and lived at home with me, in that case it is my will that such amount or demand be deducted out of such legalies share;

and further it is my will that if a majority of my heirs in interest should think proper before a division should take place between them to sell the whole of my real estate and divide the monies arising therefore agreeably to the tenor of this my will herein before expressed, in that case it is my will and I do hereby authorize and empower my executors herein after named to sell the same and execute to the purchasee or purchasers as good a deed or deeds as I could have done in my life time by my own conveyances;

and lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my two sons Godfrey and David to be the executors of this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof, I have hereunto at my hand and seal the twenty fifth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six.

George is the son of Jacob and Elizabeth Gearhart.

George "Jury" is the only Gearhart of his generation to remain in New Jersey (his two brothers, Jacob and William, moved to Pennsylvania in the 1780's). It is said that George and Ann had 16 children but only 11 children are known. He did raise the orphaned children (3 of them) of his daughter Elizabeth Gearhart Emery who died with her husband Peter in the fall of 1793 of yellow fever.

In 1767 George married Antje "Ann" Van Horn, daughter of Matthias Van Horn and Neeltje (Eleanor Mary) Crom. The following are their surviving 11 children:
