About George Goodloe
"George may have spelled his name Gidlow. This is probably the George Gidlow that came to Virginia with his sister Margaret on the "Phillip" (1655) under Capitan Richard Morgan. They were Roman Catholics, but to come to Virginia, they had to renounce their church and join the established church. Undoubtedly, they were Royalists and suffered from defeat in England's Civil War. This is probably why George left no records about his Lancashire connections."
Parents: Thomas GIDDDLOW (Goodloe) IV (b 1616 -) & his wife.
Married
- In 1666 to Mary, whose last name is not known. Children
- Henry (1675-1748)
- Mary (<1670-) married Carter.
- Anne married Cranke.
