Obituary:From the Thursday, January 5, 1899 issu e of</p><p><p>The Whiting Journal</p></p><p><p>George Hatch was born in Dorsetshire, England, Sept. 29 , 1823. Died at the home of Mr. Allen, Whiting, Kansas, De c. 28th, 1898. Aged 75 years 2 months and 29 days. He mov ed from England to Canada, where he then spent 25 years o f his life. He then moved to Kansas where he spent the res t of his days, except the last seven years of his life, whi ch was spent in Colorado. He had been ill for several week s. he came back to Kansas thinking it would improve his hea lth, but all efforts were thwarted by the ravages of diseas e.Mr. Hatch buried a companion about 19 years ago , who was the mother of eleven children. Three years late r he was again married to Minnie Grub, who is the mother o f one child. He has been a member of the Presbyterian Chur ch for nearly thirty years. He leaves a companion and twel ve children to mourn their loss, but joins a companion on t he other side, to await the coming of those left behind. T he members of the Whiting I.O.O.F. took charge of the remai ns which were taken to Hiawatha for interment. The funera l sermon was preached at the home of Mr. James Hatch, by Re v.
