GEORGE KENNAN
George was the son of Rev. Thomas Kennan and his wife, Sarah Lathrop. He was married 20 Feb. 1817, Bangor, Franklin Co., NY, to Mary Tullar, daughter of Capt. Chester Tullar and his wife, Eudotia Cooke. The marriage ceremony was performed by his father, Rev. Thomas Kennan.
About 1824, he and his family moved to Morristown, St. Lawrence Co., NY, where he cleared the land he had bought for farming and built a house and barn. They lived there until about 1836, when they moved to Pope's Mill, NY where he had a saw mill and also farmed. In 1850, he sold the property and moved to Menasha, Winnebago Co., WI.
