About George Wyatt

In 1642, George's uncle, Sir Francis Wyatt, at that time Governor of Virginia for the second time, brought George Wyatt and his brothers and sisters back(?) to Virginia. Edward and his brother, George Wyatt had land grants to plantations where the town of Williamburg, Virginia now stands. The National Geographic Magazine in an issue about Williamsburg, VA. mentions the fact that when the capital of the Virginia Colony was to be placed at Williamsburg, that the House of Burgess and the Crown bought the land from Edward and George Wyatt.

Richard Wyatt is suspect as a son of George Wyatt - George supposedly had only one son, Henry, who died without issue. There are at least two Y-DNA Wyatt lines claiming descent from Rev. Haute Wyatt and/or his (great-)grandfather, which are incompatible with each other and even more so with a line that probably descends from Edward Wyatt.
