Georgina Elisabeth Spencer Taufer

Georgina's father was the George Edward Taufer who was a patient of Jose Rizal; her mother was George's second wife, a Portuguese. Mr. Taufer brought Georgina and his adopted daughter, Marie Josephine Leopoldine MacBride Bracken (Josephine Bracken), with him to the Philippines when he went to see Rizal. It was only Josephine (with a Filipina) who accompanied George to Dapitan. Some accounts mistakenly report George's companions to the Philippines to be Josephine and Francesca, Georgina's mother. The latter would have been impossible as Francesca was already dead by the time the trip took place (George was already married to his third wife, also a Portuguese).
