Gert 'Buks' Swanepoel (1934 - 2014)

Brief overview:

Gert (80), was attacked and bludgeoned with a hammer on his farm Sterkfontein in Vierfontein, Free State, on 21st/24th July 2014. Only a knife and a bunch of keys were stolen. He died of his injuries a few days later.

Tankiso Ernest Beleme (23) and Lawrence Thuli Thabatha (34) appeared in the High Court on Tuesday June 9th, 2015. Beleme and Thabatha were also charged with aggravated robbery, attempted murder (on Swanepoel’s wife, Baby) and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
