WEBSTER, Gordon Roscoe - 75, South Alton, Kings Co., died October 19, 1996, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Cambridge, he was a son of the late Jerimah and Mary (Shaffer) Webster. He farmed all of his life in the Valley area. He worked with Kentville Research Station for 10 years and retired. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 6, Kentville, and was a veteran of the Second World War. Surviving are his companion, Emma Frost; son, Bernard, Canning; stepson, Bradford Tupper, Lake George; daughter Fran (Mrs. William Hart), Abbotsford, B.C.; stepdaughters, Dianne (Mrs. Murray Johnstone), Waterville; Virginia (Mrs. Robert Nichol), New Westminster, B.C.; Ruth (Mrs. Wayne Dearman), Brooklyn, Hants Co.; brother, Everett, New Minas; sisters, Bertha Palmquest, London, Ont., Clara Hill, Hamilton, Ont.; Connie (Mrs. Mel Hubbards), Mount Uniacke; Leona (Mrs. David Sutton), Port Williams; Marjorie McIntyre, Kingston; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Stanley, Ray; half-brother, Fred; sisters, Liah, Violet, Joyce. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday, both in H.C. Lindsay's Memorial Chapel, Kentville, Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Burial in Cambridge Cemetery. Donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Canadian Cancer Society, VON, or any charity.
