Gotlieb (Cutlip) Airy Jr was born in Frederick Co, VA abt 1760. Gotlieb died Nov 1822 in Lewisburg, Greenbrier Co, VA (now WV), at 62 years of age. His estate inventory is recorded at the Greenbrier Court House, Lewisburg, West Virginia. It is not known when Cutlip, Jr.'s first wife, Barbara, daughter of Jos. Siveley, died. There is evidence that they left Rockingham County and lived for a time in Halifax County, Virginia where their daughter, Margaret was born. He did arrive in Greenbrier County by 1804, where he married his second wife, Elizabeth Hugghart on June 19, 1804 in Greenbriar Co., Virginia and lived for the remainder of his days. He signed this marriage license as "Cutlip Airy, Jr.".
