Grace Barron

Ellis Barron, of Watertown, Massachusetts, married, as his first wife, a woman named Grace, who was the mother of his children. She died in Watertown, Massachusetts, some time before 14 Dec 1653,

His second wife was Hannah or Anne (Hammond) Hawkins, the widow of Timothy Hawkins. She died 1 Sep 1685. Ellis died 30 Oct 1676.

Five of their children were born in County Waterford, Ireland. They were Ellis Jr., Mary, Susannah, Hannah and John.

The family came to Massachusetts about 1639, settling in Watertown, where Ellis Sr. was received as freeman on 6/2/1641.

Three children were born to Ellis and Grace in Watertown, only the births of two are recorded in the town register.

He did not recieve a grant of land in the settlement but purchased a homestall and 10 acres from a Mr. Kemball, situated on the east side of Common St. and bounded on the west by Stone St. [Colonial and Revolutionary Lineages of America, Vol. 2, p. 149].

This family was founded in America by ELLIS BARRON, one of the family of Palatine Barron, of Burnchurch, in the County of Waterford, Ireland, and related to MILO BARRON, ROLAND BARRON, and NICHOLAS BARRON. above Ellis was born in Ireland, probably Waterford, about 1600 and emigrated to America about 1640. He was in Waterford, Massachusetts in 1641, and was made Freeman there June 2, 1641. He was married in Ireland in about 1625, where five of his children were born. His wife was Grace. His children were: Ellis b;1628, Susanna b;1630, Hannah b;1635,\ John b;1638, Sarah b;1640, Moses b;1643, and Peter b;1645. Grace Barron died at Waterford, Massachusetts, about 1650. He was married secondly December 1653 to Hannah Hawkins. He died October 30, 1676.

Found as daughter of Judith Hele & Admiral Sir John Hawkins. However they did not have a daughter named Grace. Disconnected as parents Nov 2014.
