GRACE L. SPELLMAN 1915 - 2008

Grace L. Spellman, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, January 20, 2008. She was born May 9, 1915 in Evergreen, Alabama to Judge and Sudie Raines, who preceded her in death. Also, preceding her in death were her husband, W.P. (Hank) Spellman; her daughter, Betty J. Uzdevenes; grandson, Michael Glasgow; her seven brothers and sisters; and stepfather, Fred Lindenburg. She is survived by daughters, Merelyn Williams and Jeff Clopton (caregivers and companions) and Susie (Fred) Donovan; special grandchildren, Donald (Susie) Skipper, John P. (Lisa) Donovan, Fred (Leslie) Donovan, Mary (Jim) McClellan and Linda (Eddie) Thompson of Bowie, TX; also surviving three grandchildren and a special niece, Dorathy Grissom and several nieces and nephews; 16 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 25, 2008 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Brother Larry White officiating. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Donald Skipper, John P. Donovan, Fred Donovan and Jim McClellan; nephew, Thomas Grissom and friend, Russell Merrill. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the funeral home. OAK LAWN FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
