Jakob Krook was probably born at Gryta manor in Gryta parish, Uppsala. It was rented by his father since the 1650's. In 1662 Georg von Osten was processing at court to force Gudmund Krook to leave the manor, but it was argued that the family should be allowed to stay until the wife's pregnancy had been finished. This pregnancy coincides with the probable birth of Jakob Krook, so it seems likely that the family moved out from Gryta after his birth. |
