About Gunilda (Larsdtr) Iverson
17 Jun 1937---Gunhilda Iverson, daughter of the pioneers, Mr. and Mrs. Lars Iverson was born in Holt Township March 23, 1858, and with the exception of two years spent in South Dakota she has been a resident of Fillmore county all her life. In June, 1875, she was married to Andrew A. Lodahl of the Whalen vicinity. To this union thirteen children were born. Nine whom survive, namely, Lars and Clara of Whalan, Andrew and Carl of Lanesboro, Bennie, Tholvin and Arthur near Cornell, Wis., Melvin of White Bear Lake and Mary (Mrs. Martin Mikkelson) Miles City, Montana. 4 daughters preceded the mother in death, Louise (Mrs. Gust Nepstad), Christine (Mrs. Ole Olson), Martha (Mrs. George Tudahl), and an infant daughter, Gunhilda.
Mr. Lodahl passed away in 1922. In spite of her advanced age, Mrs. Lodahl had been in fairly good health, and up and around until last Wednesday when she was taken seriously ill. She slept away very peacefully last Saturday evening at about 9 o'clock with only her oldest son Lars and her daughter Clara and granddaughter Mary at her bedside. Besides the above named sons and daughters, she leaves one sister, Mrs. Ole Anderson of Cooperstown, N. D., one half sister, Mrs. Louise Bendickson and one half brother, R. J. Stondahl of Lanesboro, also 37 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. The funeral will be held from the Whalan Lutheran Church this afternoon (Thursday) at 2 o'clock with the Rev. J. L. Knutson officiating. The remains will be laid to rest beside her husband in the family lot.
