Beverly Gunvaldson 1989 compilation: born in Ramberget in 1804. He married Karen Hansdtr Sørum and later moved to Smerud. According to Vernon’s information, was a ‘gaardsmann’ meaning that he owned or managed the Smerud gaard. He died on June 21, 1842 when he was only thirty-eight years old.

Elsrud: Gunvald ble eier av Smerud etter sin fars død i 1823. Gunvald ble eier av Ramberget ved testamente dattert 28/06-1824, kgl. conf 23 november 1825 og påtegnet dattert 21 april 1829, tinglyst 25 mai 1829 fra sin tante Berit Ellefsdatter Ramberget. Han bodde mest i Ramberget etter 1822. I 1829 solgte han mesteparten av Ramberget til Christoffer Nilsen Nesmoen for 300 specidaler. Resten solgte han i 1833 for 100 spesidaler. Skjøtene var datert 14 desember 1829 og 30 desember 1833. Begge skjøtene ble tinglyst i 1841. Gunval med familie flyttet etter salget av Ramberget i 1829 til Smerud og ble boende der. Vernon G.-- Gunvald and Karen had been married in 1826. His early death, however, almost certainly made things rough for his young children. Based upon the times and conditions the children had to work elsewhere than at the home place. This is documented by the varying birthplaces of their children's children.
