About Hannah Ford

HANNAH4, Jonathan3, Benjamin2, Joseph1

Hannah Baldwin. dau. of Jonathan Baldwin and Susannah Kitchell, was b. 1701, in Newark, New Jersey. She m. COL. JACOB FORD, of Morristown, NH.; she d. July 31,1777. He was b. Apr. 13,1704, and d. Jan.19,1777. He was the owner of Washington's headquarters in Morristown, now owned by the New Jersey Historical Society. His will names all his children save John, deceased. I judge the bequests to the daughters were small, as Hannah, in her will, gives all her property to her daughters, "wronged by their father."

Children were: John (died before his father), Timothy, Gabriel (succeeded to the mansion), Jacob (1738), Elizabeth, Rachel (m. Samuel Tuttle, who, but not his wife, was mentioned in her father's will), Jane (m. Moses Tuttle, who, but not his wife, was mentioned in her father's will), Phebe (m. Phillips), and Mary (m. Azariah Dunham, who, but not his wife, was named in the will).

George F. Tuttle, Esq., of New York, tells me that the last two (I think, the last three), daughters were those "wronged in the will."
