He [Jonathan Judd] lived sometime in Hartford, a few years in Glastenbury, and then moved to East Middletown, Conn., 1716, where all his children were born, except the two older. He married, Nov. 27, 1712, Hannah Diggens, daughter of Jeremiah Diggens, of East Windsor. She survived him and married Stephen Hand of East Guilford, 1742. Spent her last days with her son, Thomas at Coventry, dying about 1766. They were members of a church organized in East Middletown in 1721. He died Aug 28, 1725 at the age of thirty-seven. His posterity has been very numerous

Biography

Hannah (Diggins) Judd was born in Connecticut.

Hannah, the third daughter and youngest of five children of Jeremiah Diggins and Mary Cadwell was born in 1690 at East Windsor, Connecticut Colony[1]

Hannah was married twice. Hannah married 1) Jonathan Judd, the son of Benjamin and Mary (Lewis) Judd on 27 November 1712 at Glastonbury, Hartford, Connecticut.[2]

They had nine children born at Connecticut Colony:

  1. Philip Judd (b. 13 Jan 1713; d. 1776),[3] m. 17 Jan 1764 at Hebor, CT, Mary Peters (1744-1838)

Jonathan Judd preceded Hanna in death. He died on 28 August 1725 in his 37th year at Middletown, Hartford [now Middlesex County], Connecticut.[11]

Hannah married 2) Stephen Hand (b. 8 Feb 1675, East Hampton, NY; d. 14 Aug 1755, Guilford, CT) on 21 September 1743 at Guilford, New Haven, Connecticut by Rev. Jonathan Todd.[12]

There are no known children from this union.

Stephen preceded Hannah in death in 1755.

Hannah (Diggins) Judd, widow, died in June 1766 in her 76th year at Coventry, Tolland, Connecticut.[13] and [14]. Her burial site is not known.
