Additional Information

Samuel Starr:

Notes:
Samuel's grandfather, Dr. Comfort Starr, left him a "large booke of martyrs with ye frame belonging thereunto" in his will. Samuel and Hannah married and lived in New London, CT. In 1670 Samuel tried to establish a ferry at Norwich and received land for it, but he gave it up and forfeited the grant. Hannah's father, Jonathan, had a ferry service many years before. Samuel was appointed county marshall in 1678, and probably held the office till his death.

Cemetery: Morgan Avery Cemetery; Groton, New London, CT, USA

Notes

The Wheeler source apparently incorrectly records Hannah's marriage to the John Thompson who son William married Bridget Chesebrough. See the notes for John Thompson born June 3, 1610 and his son William born 1662-1663 who married Mary (unknown surname). Hannah did marry Samuel Starr and may have married John Thompson born 1644 and died October 1 4, 1688 son of William and Abigail (Collins) Thompson.
