About Hannah Morris

Hannah Bishop, the daughter of James Bishop and Mary Lewen, was born May 29, 1651, baptized June 1, 1651, and died June 12, 1710 at the age of 59. On August 12, 1669 she married John Morris, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Morris. They had 7 children, Mary, Hannah, Mary, Elizabeth, Thomas, Abigail, and Desire.

Origins

Hannah's father was James Bishop, the BISHOP progenitor.

James Bishop came over from England with brothers Henry and Nathaniel ca 1646.

He married first Mary Lewen.

HANNAH BISHOP of NEW HAVEN md. JOHN MORRIS of NEW HAVEN who various sources have mixed up with a different John Morris, b. about 1624 who was of N.J. and d. in 1675. This mixing has confounded 2 different families and made John Morris of New Haven a bigamist md. to 2 women at once, one of whom was in N.J. at the time which would have been inconvenient indeed.
