Harriett Abercrombie was the daughter of Colville Abercrombie & Mary Ruth Lindley. Born on 2/4/1786 at Laurens County, SC.
Harriett married John Nesbitt Nash in 1804 at Laurens County, SC. Harriett & John were the parents of 12 children.
Following the passage of the Tariff of 1808 (also known as the Tariff of Abominations) in the spring of 1828, the extended family members of the Abercrombie, Nash, Babb and Campbell families relocated to Georgia & Alabama; however some did remain in the Carolinas.
Harriett Nash died at the age of 54 on March 2, 1840 and is buried in the Babb Family Cemetery, Hampton, Henry County, GA. When John died 24 years later (and after a 2nd marriage); he chose to be buried beside her. Only flagstones mark their graves.
