Martin Luther’s call to the Church to return to the teachings of the Bible resulted in the formation of new traditions within Christianity and the Counter-Reformation in the Roman Catholic Church, culminating at the Council of Trent.

It is believed Joseph Staehli STALEY a widower was an immigrant to America in 1732 to the port of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania along with the families of his two children and grandchildren. Burial of Joseph Staehli STALEY in 1743 is in an undiscovered cemetery in York, York County, Pennsylvania.
