Ulrich Johannes Jacob Staehli STALEY is the son of Hans Jacob STAEHLI and his wife Susanna RUTERSHAUSER.

Ulrich Johannes Jacob Staehli STALEY married Anna Maria GERMANN on 16 Mar 1724 in Canton, Berne, Switzerland. The first six of their ten children were born in Canton, Berne, Switzerland. In 1732 they sailed to America from England to enter the port of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After arrival in America this German Immigrant couple with their six children changed their surname from Staehli to Staley.

Ulrich Johannes Jacob Staehli STALEY and his wife Anna Maria GERMANN settled with other German immigrants in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania where three more children were born. Their nine children are:

His burial is in an undiscovered Cemetery in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Several of their married children migrated into colonial central North Carolina.

Ulrich was a wheelwright in Alsace Lorraine, he and his wife Anna (Germann) Stehley came to Philadelphia on the Ship (Pink) "Plaisance" in Sept of 1732. In 1737 They took up land in Warwick (now Elizabeth) Twp Lancaster Co PA and much more including 104 acres in 1765 Bethel Twp Lancaster (now Lebanon) County PA

Ulrich was born in Schwarzenburg to JACOB STAHLY and ANNA ZUTER who were married there in 1697. Ulrich was a wheelwright or Cartwright in Alsace Lorraine and drew a wagon wheel as his mark when he signed the papers at two of his children's baptisms, he and his wife ANNA GERMANN STEHLEY came to Philadelphia on the Ship (Pink) "Plaisance" in Sept of 1732 with at least 5 children, 3 of whom were too young to show up in the ships manifest. You will find his wheelwright mark as his signature there also. In 1737 they took up land in Warwick (now Elizabeth) Twp Lancaster Co PA along with others from the same ship. BEARs, BRICKERs, ULRICHs, WOLFs, ZWALLYs, and We know now that PETER BRICKER was one of his close friends and the godfather to his son HANS PETER STAHLY. (Thank you DALE BRICKER!)

Lancaster Co Deed Book 00GG page 353-356 names Ulrich's children: John Stealey his eldest son,deceased Barbara Byer wife of Martin Byer,(Boyer) Christian Stealy Mary Garber now the wife of Christian Garber Jacob Stealy Martin Stealy Abraham Stealy Franey Kover wife of Keaty Kover (Gideon Kober now Coover), Peter Stealy

(Sons, Jacob turned over his share of the Land in Lancaster Co to his brother Christian in 1785 and died in Harrisburg PA, Martin and Abraham sold their shares to Christian and moved on to Wythe Co VA) Peter also turned over his share to brother Christian, but was still in Bethel Twp Lancaster Co in 1785. Not sure why son Ulrich Steely Jr. is not mentioned but he continues on the same property in Bethel Twp and takes up more land in Mifflin Co PA. We find him and his sons,Lazarus Jacob, Henry and Gabriel on the 1790 census there.
