HANS Michael Wampler, son of Hans Peter Wampler, Sr. and Veronica Lung, was born on 11-19-1724 in Hinsingen, Alsace, France and died in December 1789 in Wythe Co., VA. He married Elizabeth Anna on 1746. He was buried in St Paul Luth Cem, Rural Retreat, Wythe Co, VA.
Michael lived in Lebanon Twp., Lancaster Co., PA. and moved by 1771 to Fincastle Co., VA of which Montgomery Co., VA was formed and from that Wythe Co, VA was formed. Michael was on William Crockett's list of tithables in 1771. He served in Lord Dunsmore's War in 1774. He was an Elder in his Church in 1782.
He transferred his land in Montgomery Co, VA, 18 Apr 1879 to his sons: Michael Jr and Christopher. Deed was recorded 1 Dec 1789. Other records show he died intestate 1789. Children were: Esther Wampler, Stephen Wampler, Elizabeth Wampler, George Wampler, Catherine Wampler, Michael Jr Wampler, Christopher Wampler, Peter Wampler, Louisa Lovis Wampler.
