Mr. Alfred Smith White married, January 25, 1843, Miss Harriet Wilson Randolph of Tuckahoe Plantation, Goochland County, Virginia. She was the daughter of Thomas Mann Randolph (the much-younger half-brother (by his father's second wife, Gabriella Jones Harvie Randolph (Brockenbrough)) of Thomas Mann Randolph, Jr., U.S. Congressman, Governor of Virginia, and son-in-law of Thomas Jefferson) and Harriot Vaughn Randolph (Wilson).

The children of this marriage were, Randolph White, born on November 16, 1843, died on March 17, 1846; Albert Smith White, born on October 4, 1844; Randolph White, born on May 15, 1847; Frances Howell White, born on December 28, 1849; Mary Gabriella White, born on May 4, 1852. Judge White died at his residence at Stockwell after a short illness on September 4, 1864. The news was heard with universal regret, and the newspapers contained warm eulogies of him. Some of the most hearty were written by political opponents.
