Col Peck is famous for being in WWI, WWII, in the Bataan death march, a POW of the Japanese for 3 years in Manchuria. He was in the New Mexico State Militia in the cavalry before WWI, he was called into Federal Service to chased Poncho Villa and safeguard the US Mail. Called back to Federal Service for WWI sent to France as an ambulance driver. Later promoted to LT.Called into Federal Service again for WWII, had been promoted to Full Col. Unit re-designated an anti aircraft battery, sent to California to train, then sent to Bataan,Philippine Islands to cover for General MacArthur's retreat. In the Bataan death march at 50 and lived through it. Later a POW in Manchuria for 3 years. Returning home, promoted to brigadier general, retiring from The Army and from the Santa Fe Railroad, his civilian job, when not in Federal Service for the Army or The New Mexico State Militia (later named New Mexico National Guard).
