Rempel, Mrs. Abr. Schultz and Pete and Jake, both of whom died before 1961. His Zionsbote obituary gives n.s. birthdate of 16 June. He had a total of 9 children with Schlabach, 5 sons and 4 daughters. His eldest 3 daughters predeceased him. He may be the Heinrich Rempel of Hochstadt who wrote numerous submissions to Mennonitische Rundschau in the 1890's. His own autobiography apparently says he was born 3 Jun 1853 o.s. or 16 Jun 1853 n.s. ("Settlers of the East Reserve" p269). However, Vitals has age at death as 70, and perhaps 1853 is a transcription error. 1901 census says born 16 Jun 1855, age 45. His autobiography also says he was age nineteen and a half when married.
