406. HELEN TURLEY (Paul , Ignatius2 Paul ) was born about 1813 in Kentucky and diedin Washington County, Missouri in 1864.247
she married George W. Higginbotham 28 July 1831 in Washington County, Missouri.248 According to a county history published in 1888, Helen, or Hellander, was the daughter of William Turley of Kentucky.249
Records have not been found to substantiate this. Nor has a record been found to prove that she was a daughter of Paul Turley of Washington County, Missouri.
Eber Turley, thought to be a son of Paul, was living with the George W. and Helen Higginbotham family in 1850.250
Helen Turley is placed in the family of Paul Turley because it is the only family group other than Ignatius- Turley known to be in Washington County in the 1820s.
Since Paul Turley was not listed in the 1830 census, it has been suggested that the H. Turley in the census was Helen Turley and that the others listed in the household are brothers and sisters. No record has been found for any male Turley of this period with a given name beginning with the letter H.
