William Kroeze was born Hendrik Willem Kroeze to Gerrit Kroeze and Gerritjen Jannessen in Anna Paulowna, North Holland, Netherlands. He came to the United States at the age of 7 and lived in the Chicago, Illinois with his parents. He moved to Washington in 1904 and established a dairy farm which he worked until his retirement.
