Henni Hovinmaki Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Henni Hovinmaki, nee Vilhunen, age 84 years, announce her passing on Saturday, March 3, 2018 with family by her side, at Bethammi Nursing Home, following a brief illness.

Born September 10, 1933 in Kangasniemi, Finland, Henni was one of 6 children. In 1958, Henni, along with her husband Sulo and young son Rainer, sailed to Australia. They remained there until 1962, and then sailed to Port Arthur, ON, where they chose to reside permanently; and where their son Roy was born.

Henni had worked at the Hoito for 6 years, after which she became a full time Homemaker. She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens. Henni had a love of cooking, which her family will miss because the recipes remain with her. She cherished her many trips back to Finland, to visit her family and friends.

Henni will be lovingly remembered by her sons Rainer (Pauline) and Roy; grandchildren Martti, Leah (Chris), and Matthew; great grandsons Raiden and Rory Andrechek. She is also survived by two of her sisters in Finland, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Henni was predeceased by her husband Sulo in 2015, her parents, two of her sisters, and her brother.

Henni's family would like to thank staff at Bethammi Nursing Home for their excellent compassionate care of her while she resided there. An extra special thank you to Myra Roeck for being a great friend to Henni and watching out for her. It is greatly appreciated.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018 in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, presided by Pastor Jari Lahtinen. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment in Tarmola Cemetery will follow the reception. Should friends so desire, donations may be made in Henni's memory to a charity of your choice.
