Henrietta Maxwell of South Bar

HENRIETTA MAXWELL

Henrietta Maxwell is the daughter of George Maxwell of Southbar. [National Records of Scotland, Cadder Marriages, 1662-1744, reference OPR.626/1] Her mother is Elizabeth Houston. Marriage

Henrietta Maxwell married James Dunlop of Garnkirk Scotland Marriages, 1561-1910 Their request to have proclamation of marriage was booked at Cadder parish in Lanarkshire, Scotland, on 9 June 1722 and they were married there on 22 June 1722. The marriage record reads as follows:

"June 9th (1722) James Dunlop of Garnkirk in this paroch and Hendoretta Maxwell daughter laull to George Maxwell of Southbar in the citie of Glasgow had their purpose of marriage three several times orderly proclaimed and no objection being made against the same they were married here upon the 22d day of June".
