About Henry Blayney, 2nd Lord
Henry Blayney, 2nd Lord Blayney, Baron of Monaghan was invested as a Knight on 27 March 1626. He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 97th Foot. He succeeded to the title of 2nd Lord Blayney, Baron of Monaghan, co. Monaghan [I., 1621] on 11 February 1629/30. On 24 October 1641 his house at Castle Blayney was plundered by rebels, and his wife and family imprisoned. He fought in the Battle of Benburgh, County Tyrone on 5 June 1646.
