Henry Semple, Jr. was born on Feb 25, 1911 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, a son of Henry Semple, Sr (1881-1953) and Jeanie Scot Pollack (Jack) Semple (1886-1966). He was brother to James Semple (born Vancouver 1912-1944); Janet S (Semple) Cassady (born Montana 1916-1982) and Anna Semple (died after WW I).
"In 1923 when my father (Henry "Hank" Semple) was twelve, his family moved to Miami, Fla in search of success and prosperity." quoting from a hand written message that was given by his son, minister Dr. James Semple, on June 30, 1996.
Henry Semple, Jr. married Mary Frances Poole on June 2, 1930 at the Courthouse, Fort Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida. They had one son, James Henry Semple, born on Aug 23, 1931. Henry worked as an assistant butcher.
In 1935, Hank Semple, a truck driver, with wife Mary and son, Jimmie (as his mother spelled it), lived at 4775 N.W. 5th Ave in Miami, FL. He spent many years working as an Iron worker on many of the landmark buildings in Miami, FL. He suffered from migraine headaches from a two-story fall through scaffolding as told by his son.
In 1942, Henry Semple, Jr., an iron worker, with wife, Mary, resided at 346 NW 43rd St., Miami, FL.
On May 1, 1993, Henry Semple, Jr., age 82, died in Miami and buried in Southern Memorial Park, North Miami, Section 5, Lot 290, Space 4A, Dade County, Miami, Florida.
