"Henry H. Beaulieu, a Noted Man of White Earth Reservation, Goes to His Reward. White Earth was thrown into an excitement Wednesday evening owing to the sudden and evidently very critical sickness of H. H. Beaulieu, one of the oldest and best known residents on the White Earth Reservation. Upon investigation, we are informed, it developed that Mr. Beaulieu had, through a mistake, taken a quantity of carbolic acid, and after a night of intense agony, yesterday afternoon about one o'clock he was relieved by death from his suffering. "H. H. Beaulieu was 76 years of age and he has lived on the reservation about half century. He was the last to go of the three brothers, Clem, Paul and Henry, who in former years were a powerful trio among the Chippewas. "He served in the civil war in Company G, 9th Minn., and at Nashville he was cut to piese s by the explosion of a shell, and left on the field to die. His powerful physique, however, served him well, and he recovered from his injuries. "The funeral will be held at White Earth tomorrow."
